How Masslore Works

Masslore organizes fandom knowledge in a five-level hierarchy that provides a structured architecture for comprehensive, organized franchise documentation.

Level 1
World

The broadest organizational container. A World encompasses the full creative universe of a franchise, its mythology, rules, and the total body of work that defines it.

Examples: Marvel Universe, The Tolkien Legendarium, The Wizarding World
Level 2
Collection

Major groupings within a World. A Collection organizes a distinct body of work within the broader universe.

Examples: The Marvel Cinematic Universe, The Lord of the Rings films, The Wizarding World films
Level 3
Franchise

Individual properties within a Collection. A Franchise is a specific creative property.

Examples: Avengers, Spider-Man, The Hobbit, Gilmore Girls, Harry Potter
Level 4
Work

Specific creative outputs within a Franchise. A film, a television season, a novel, or a game.

Examples: Avengers: Endgame (film), Gilmore Girls Season 1, Dune (1965 novel)
Level 5
Work Part

Discrete units within a Work. An individual episode, a chapter, a level.

Examples: Gilmore Girls Episode 1.01, Dune Chapter 1
